FUEL MISERS

Generally, a car with a small engine delivers better fuel economy than one with a large engine.

A car with an automatic transmission usually uses more fuel than one with a standard transmission.

Don’t use a higher grade (and more expensive) fuel than your car requires.

In some cases, choosing a longer travel route can be more economical. Driving on a smooth freeway uses less fuel than taking an older, shorter route with lots of traffic lights.

Mapquest.com can always give you directions to where you are going, as well as the shorter or longer route to get to your destination.
